We successfully completed our second Model Makeover Day and it was fantastic! To date, we have raised $750 toward Angels in Action and we are hoping to raise more over the coming years.

At this last MMD, we had a special guest Cheryl Brink, a reporter from the Stittsville.

Next Model Makeover Day - May 14th

If you love what you have seen so far, from our first Model Makeover Day, you will not want to miss the next one!

Being held at Spahara in Bells Corners, the second Model Makeover Day is going to include a few added items to make your makeover day extra special!

The price includes having your makeup applied, scalp massage as well as having your hair cut and styled. This will be followed by a glamour photo shoot with
Tripp Photography. Your special day also includes two 8x10 prints so you can remember your makeover forever! As an added bonus, your makeover also includes a skin analysis, mini spa facial and decolette massage which are available to you after the Model Makeover Day on May 14, and can be booked directly through Spahara.

This deluxe makeover takes place on Thursday, May 14th, 2009.

If you are thinking that you do not have a whole day to devote to yourself, don't fear, each session will take approximately three and a half hours and you can begin your makeover at any time of the day between 9 am and 5 pm (starting every half hour). This complete package, valued at over $400, is yours for only $199 including tax.

Premier Model Makeover Day Event Was a Huge Success!

Our first ever Model Makeover Day event, held this past Sunday March 22, 2009 at the Bourget Inn & Spa was a huge success! All the participants went through dramatic transformations thanks to our talented Model Makeover Day team. The team consisted of hairstylists Melanie Robinette and Kristen Tagieff of Kool World Hair Design, Eric Wang from Versailles Academy and freelance makeup artists Tammy Desforges and Rita Paul.

Once the hair and makeup were completed on each of the participants, the group was treated to lunch prepared by the Bourget Inn & Spa while listening to the inspirational words of our guest speaker Francine Rodrigue of Lifestyle By Design. After lunch the ladies got into their gowns, generously provided by Dominique Levesque Bridal, and prepared for their model debuts in front of the camera. They were glamorized further with designer hats and headpieces courtesy of Chapeaux De Madeleine and beautiful jewellery by Tai Knots Jewellery.

The BIG day!

Tomorrow is Model Makeover Day's debut! Thanks to Cristie Vito from Stellar Events, everything should carry on without a hitch. We have many volunteers helping, since one of the main goals is to support Angels in Action, a local charity supporting those with Ovarian Cancer. We have also had support from Bob Derro from AM 1310 for running an interview with myself during his show all this week! Thanks Brother Bob!

A large thanks to the Bourget Inn and Spa for hosting our first event. They have been extremely generous with donating time and meals, as well as spa package in the silent auction.

Thanks to Dominique Levesque and Willy Perkins from Dominique Bridal, who have generously lent us some gorgeous gowns for the makeover women to wear to complete their look.

Other support has come from Rachel Norman of Tai Knots Jewellery, who has been so generous in giving away a free pair of earrings to each participant, as well as lending use of some added matching jewellery.

Thanks to the volunteers who are going to assist with hair, makeup, manicures, and general organization of the event. More info about these great people in the next update.

I am just so excited about tomorrow, I'm not sure if I will be able to sleep!

In Support of Angels in Action

Model Makeover Day has two big goals. One is to make you look as good on the outside as you feel on the inside! The other is to support those in need.

In this post, we will talk about Angels in Action, a local charity in support of those with Ovarian Cancer. Check out their website at http://www.angelsinaction.ca/.

During the course of our event, a percentage of proceeds will go directly to Angels in Action. At the event there will also be a silent auction with great items for you to bid on, with all of the proceeds from the silent auction going directly to Angels in Action. We will keep you updated on some of the auction items that will be available for you to bid on. After each Model Makeover Day, we will announce how much was earned toward charity.

Although Christine has traveled throughout Canada and the world, she was born and raised in the small northern Ontario city of Timmins. As a result, she has an excellent awareness of worldly cultures and traditions while maintaining a small town appreciation of things. Her photographic skills, along with her personality, allow her to capture every significant moment as it happens. She loves to see the passion exchanged between a newly married couple and the joyous faces of family members who share in their special day. Christine puts her whole heart into everything she does, especially her photography. Whether she is shooting a wedding, taking pictures of babies or photographing a model session, she takes immense pride in the final product.

After a continental breakfast, our talented team will begin the transformation process by enhancing your natural beauty with alluring makeup, an elegant hairdo and a relaxing manicure. Before starring in your debut fashion shoot, you will get some advice on posing and what to expect during the photo session by our guest speaker while you enjoy lunch.
